Pat Guyton returns to Reach for a weekend intensive

Pilates & Function: Intricacy of the Interior

The first step to becoming a professional Pilates teacher is completing a comprehensive education program. Next, your practice as a Pilates teacher begins. It’s the first step on your personal journey to mastery. Along the way, it is critical to reevaluate your teaching skills periodically and to actively participate in your own Pilates exercise program.

The most effective way to maintain your zest and enthusiasm for teaching is to look to the basics and discover new tools.

In this workshop you’ll learn:

  • Pilates mat and equipment exercises with a new perspective that you can implement immediately.
  • Progression of exercise sequencing to create individual exercise programs for all ages and skill level.
  • Cueing using imagery based on functional anatomy for faster client progress.
  • Critical thinking for client assessment and future program development.
  • Motivation to ignite your personal commitment to your regular practice of Pilates.

Pat will be available for solution-focused privates during the day on Friday. Pat will begin a weekend of learning with a master mat class at 5:30 Friday afternoon, followed by a welcome celebration. Saturday and Sunday will begin with one-hour mat classes and lunch is included both days. We will explore exercises from the Mat repertoire, and sequences for the Reformer and Cadillac/Tower. Expect to come away with a deeper understanding of Pilates and anatomy that will enrich your teaching and practice of Pilates. You can’t beat the value of hands on experience in a small group environment.

Early Registration thru 7/31 $450      After 7/20 $500      Master Class only $50
